He said that the project had been initiated in Dwarka and till now a total of 27 societies have adopted solar power systems and another hundred have shown interest in adopting the system. “Till now we have not promoted the scheme as we want to bring the cost post subsidy to Rs 1 per unit or lesser. Currently, it is at Rs 2.64 per unit after the subsidy. I am working with state power minister Satyendra Jain on this and the policy will be introduced soon. Ispatika Apartments Solar System facts and figure
City Spidey had a talk with the President of Ispatika Apartments, Sector 4, Rakesh Gupta, where the solar system was inaugurated. He shared some facts and figures regarding the solar system installation. According to him the system has been installed on the basis of RESCO (Renewable Energy Service Company) model. The solar system’s power generation capacity is 130 Kilo Watts and the total expenditure with subsidy from state government has been made by the company which installed the system. “We gave them our rooftop and they installed the system. About 60 lakh is the total expenditure in which the State Government Subsidy to the company is 30 per cent. Now we will purchase the electricity from the company that installed it at the rate of Rs 4.63 per unit. We have adopted the model under a scheme in which there is a subsidy from the Central Government which is Rs 2 per unit till 31st March 2020. In this way we have to pay only Rs 2.63 per unit to the company.”
According to Gupta the total power consumption in the society is about 300 Kilo Watts. Now with the new system in place they have to use only 170 Kilo Watts from the grid and rest can be from the solar power system. “We will pay Rs 2.63 per unit for 130 KW which means we will be saving money for that quantity. Currently, the electricity rate from the grid is about Rs 6.20 per unit, so this solar power system is beneficial for us. The agreement with the company is for the next 25 years.” said Gupta.
