To help the flood victims of Kerala, the civic administration, police administration and Civic Volunteer Force (CVF) of Ghaziabad are collaborating to organise a donation drive in the city. The drive will only collect monetary funds. Perishable goods and clothes will not be accepted as donation.
A committee would be formed under the direction of Ritu Maheshwari, DM, Ghaziabad. All the participants would be communicated about their proposed roles in the drive.
Akash Tomar, SP city, who has been nominated as chairman of the committee said the campaign is still in the planning stage. “However, we are furnishing a plan to initiate the drive as soon as possible,” he added. Ghaziabad News
Alok Kumar, President of Federation of Apartment Owners Association, Ghaziabad, who has been nominated as the in-charge of Trans-Hindon area, said, "We will try our best to engage a huge turn-out for the campaign.” He further added that the target is to collect about Rs 5 lakh for the Chief Minister Relief Fund, Kerala.
City Spidey was informed that all Thana in-charge and coordinators of CVF would work as members of the committee.
CVF is a social group comprising members of AOAs and socially active residents of Ghaziabad. The group works tirelessly in the event of calamities. It also assists civic authorities ease out the things during several events. Recently, the group worked with the authorities in managing traffic during Kanwar Yatra.
