The Federation of Apartments Owners Association (FedAOA) and Citizen Volunteer Force organised a farewell ceremony to felicitate outgoing SP city Akash Tomar on Thursday. Tomar was promoted to take up the charge as SSP Sant Kabir Nagar in Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
The event was held in Cloud 9 auditorium at NH 58.
FedAOA felicitated him with a certificate of excellence in community policing.
“It was our honour to felicitate an honest, dedicated and innovative police officer. We congratulate and extend our heartiest wishes for his new role as SSP Sant Kabir Nagar,” said Ravindra Saini, General Secretary of FedAOA.
ADM city Himanshu Gautam was also present at the ceremony.
Gautam said that he is proud of his friend Tomar. “He has been a very good friend and more than that he is a great officer. I am proud of his work here and I am sure he will do his best to help the citizens of Sant Kabir Nagar just like he did in Ghaziabad,” he said.
Tomar has a great rapport with the active residents of Trans-Hindon Area.
Lipika Bhushan, a resident of ATS Advantage in Indirapuram, said, “Tomar Sir has been a strong support for women on issues of their safety and security. He was very prompt to respond and take action. Under his administration, the crime rate dropped significantly especially chain snatching and general safety of women.”
Recently, Tomar was in news regarding a scuffle between lawyers and Police in Ghaziabad District Court on August 3. It was followed by a 22-day long hunger strike by the members of Ghaziabad Bar Association to mount the pressure on the government to take action against Tomar.
The 2014 batch IPS officer Shlok Kumar will take charge of SP city from Akash Tomar.
