Gurgaon: Authorities plan major demolition drive against illegal properties

The Authorities on Tuesday planned major demolition drive against unauthorised colonies in Gurgaon and its outskirts. They have also warned the landowners to avoid selling lands to corrupt property dealers.

The warning was issued after the department of town and country planning (DTCP) recommended case against a judge for illegal sale and development of plots in Bhondsi.

Rajender T Sharma, district town planner, enforcement, also addressed a press conference in this regard. gurgaon news

“The plots are sold on the basis of general power of attorney and special power of attorney but in revenue records name of the owner remains unchanged. Both the buyers and landowners suffer because the property dealer manages to make money without putting his name in the deal. A judge has been found as one of the landowners where colonizers were selling plots illegally. The owners need to ensure that their land is not developed without permissions,” said Sharma.

Sharma added that most of these buyers are from states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and other states and they use their hard earned money to buy property.

The officials apprised that since the name of property dealers do not figure in the revenue records, they become successful in escaping legal actions.

The DTCP has planned demolition drive against eight illegal colonies during the month of July.

A demolition drive will be carried out at Rithauj and Bhondsi on July 4, Bhondsi and Naya Ganv (July 5), Farrukhnagar (July 10), Bilaspur and Pataudi (July 13), DLF phase 3 (July 17), Kharkhadi ( July 23), Sohna and Bhondsi (July 25), Garhi Harsaru ( July 30).

The authorities will also be sending out notices to the owners of the illegal properties before going for demolition drive.
