Green area in Dwarka's Sector 10 gets a fresh lease of life

Residents from various societies across Dwarka planted about 200 saplings in the green area in Sector 10 between Shiv Shakti Apartments and IIT Engineers Apartments. Saplings of local species such as Neem, Jamun, Peepal and Pilkhan were planted.

Some couples adopted saplings and named them after their kids.

Area councillor and leader of the House, South Delhi Municipal Corporation, Kamaljeet Sehrawat, also participated in the event. She said, “The green area was transferred from the DDA to the Corporation almost a year back, and various initiatives are under way to improve their green cover. We are constructing boundaries around the green areas and also providing benches and lights.” Dwarka News

SS Goel from IIT Engineers Apartments in Sector 10, who has been instrumental in community green initiatives, said, “We are trying to turn this area green, but we have limitations. We need someone who can water the plants regularly. I have requested Sehrawat to look into the matter and provide us a dedicated person who can take care of the two parks in the area.”
