An auto rickshaw driving on the wrong side of the road rammed into a woman who was on her way home after dropping her child for the school bus. The incident happened today outside Gate No.1 of Amrapali Silicon City in Sector 76 of Noida. Noida News
The victim sustained serious injuries to her legs, hands and also neck.
The victim has been identified as Babli Singh (31), who lives with her family in Amrapali Silicon City. The auto rickshaw driver, identified as Devender Singh (22), is absconding at the moment.
According to a resident of the society, “The lady was returning home after dropping her son at the Sector 76 traffic light when the auto driver hit her. She was seriously injured and residents of the society rushed her to NEO hospital in Sector 50.”
Traffic inspector Layak Singh confirmed to City Spidey that the auto was overspeeding and lost control before hitting the lady. “If the police takes down any complaint, it will be an accident complaint,” he said.
According to an officer of Sector 49 police station, the police seized the auto rickshaw. So far, the police has not received any complaint from the victim’s family members.
Paramjeet Singh, brother of the victim who lives in Jewar area, said he got a call around 10 am about the accident.
Dr Sheikh Adil, a doctor at NEO Hospital, told City Spidey, “Thankfully, the patient is conscious. She has injuries on her forehead, left side of the face, left shoulder and left knee joint. She also suffered a fracture in the left collarbone. Her face is badly injured, as a glass is stuck in it. We will call a face surgeon to see how things proceed.”
