The severe dust pollution amidst blistering heat is making the lives of around 2.5 crore people very difficult in the national capital. And, in such kind of worrying situation, instead of bringing out any solutions to the problem, the incumbents are busy in carrying out protests sitting in air-conditioned rooms.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with three other cabinet ministers - Gopal Rai, Manish Sisodia and Satyender Jain has been protesting against Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal in the last four days. On the other hand, BJP MLAs are protesting against Kejriwal-led Delhi government outside Delhi Secretariat.
The protests are going on despite the advisories of National Pollution Control Committee and Environment Pollution Control Authority which asked people stay indoors as much as possible because the dust conditions are likely to continue in next few days.
The residents were completely miffed with the apathy of politicians as the dust pollution reached to its worst levels. The administrative level deadlock happened because AAP government is alleging that the LG is not clearing the development projects and they also blamed bureaucrats for not performing their duties.
The representatives from the city’s largest resident welfare association, URJA, said that politics in the city has reached its worst level and it is very disheartening for the youths.
“Delhi is facing severe pollution and dust particles are 18 times higher all across the city and state and central government representatives are sitting on protests in AC rooms. Where should the common man go?” a resident of Delhi tweeted.
The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has already advised the agencies to carry out water sprinkling to settle the dust suspended in the air. But, no one is paying attention to the advice and the politicians are busy in their protests.
According to DPCC, PM 10 level which needs to be less than 10 mm has reached beyond 830 mm in Delhi. PM 10 level at several places in Delhi has reached over 500 marks. East Delhi area recorded PM 10 level at 929 and PM 2.5 level of 301 on Thursday morning.
