Gurgaon: Govt orders acquisition of panchayat land illegally sold by builders

The state government has directed the Gurgaon district administration to acquire the 46 acres of panchayat land which was illegally sold by the builders. This panchayat land is situated at Gairatpur Bas and Raisina villages on the foothills of the Aravallis.

The state government has also ordered to file an FIR against the builders who illegally sold the land. Now, there will also be an investigation into the status of the land where a total of 41 villas and farmhouses have come up in last decade.

As per the official sources, these properties, which were illegally built on panchayat land, belong to people from Delhi and Mumbai including some politicians.

After the complaint filed at the chief minister’s window, additional principal secretary to Haryana CM, Rakesh Gupta directed the deputy commissioner to acquire the land and file FIR against the builders.

Gupta informed that there will also be investigation into the possibility of collusion with revenue officials and officials of the district administration. The investigation report will be sent to the CM as soon as it gets complete.

“I invested here to be close to nature as the area is located close to the Aravalli hills. It was in 2004 that we came to know of the dispute over the land. Now, we fear losing our investment as the developers are also not responding,” a farmhouse owner, requesting anonymity, said.

This complaint was raised by an advocate and resident of Gurgaon’s Sector-14, RL Narula. He has been complaining about this issue since 2006. In September 2016 and 2017, he had raised this complaint at the CM’s window.

Narula was happy with the state government’s action. At the same time, he also pointed out that the government had also ordered action in the matter in April but nothing came out of it.

“When the MCG officials came to know that land was encroached upon, they started dumping waste on my land that is adjacent to some plots which are part of the 46 acres,” he said.

“I have been fighting since 2006 but the authorities do not take any action and so, I approached the CM’s Window,” said Narula.

“We will act as per directions and facts of the case,” said Gurugram deputy commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh.
