Acting on a complaint mail by a Noida resident about long, irregular queues in front of CNG filling stations, the district administration has decided to take strict action against pumps that don’t maintain basic road discipline. To that end, city magistrate Mahendra Kumar Singh issued notices to three IGL (Indraprastha Gas Limited) CNG filling stations and two HP petrol pumps. noida news
The IGL CNG filling stations are located in Sectors 51, 71 and 53, and the HP Petrol pumps are located near Mamura Chowk at Sector 62 and 71.
Singh said that if they did not maintain road discipline, he’ll order the police to take action against them and slap a fine as well.
Complainant Amit Gupta, a resident of Prateek Wisteria, told City Spidey that vehicles coming to CNG pumps don’t maintain proper queues, resulting in traffic snarls. He added, “There’s no line management at filling stations and autos, school buses, cabs, cars make two-three lines, blocking the main road. Pump employees, too, make no effort to streamline the mess. The situation turns worse during peak hours.”
Prior to mailing the DM, the city magistrate, the traffic police and city police, he had communicated the issue to Noida traffic police, IGL and the ministry of petroleum through Twitter, but nothing materialised.
