In a tragic accident, a tanker badly rammed into school van on Thursday morning causing death to a 7-year-old girl and injuries to 17 other students. The deceased girl, Sakshi was a student of class 3.

The school van was taking students from Wazirpur JJ colony to Keshavpuram’s Kendriya Vidyalaya. A total of 18 students were there in the van.
According to the sources, Suhani, Ayisan, Depanshi, Daniksha, Riteish and Tarun were admitted in AIIMS. Tanya, Tina, John, Vinay, Danish and Rishika were admitted to LNJP hospital. While Tisha, Vans, Vashnavi and lovely were admitted to Deepchand hospital.
Five students were seriously injured. The children who got injured are in the age group of 7-15 years. Police rushed to spot immediately after the accident.
“The students were on their way to school in a Maruti Omni van when it was rammed from behind by a tanker,” said an officer.
The director of Directorate of Education (DoE), Soumya Gupta said that all the children are being treated in the hospital. "There is no mistake of school in this case because the school van was hired by the parents themselves,” Gupta said.
Apart from the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, other school students were also onboard and the police investigation is presently on.
