Indirapuram slum fire: Local high rises usher in aid for affected people

The massive fire that broke out in an Indirapuram slum earlier on Tuesday reduced more than hundred shanties to ashes. Residents of multiple high rises of this Ghaziabad township have now joined hands to lend support to the families who lost their homes and belongings in the fire.

“I was witness to the fire and saw it all from my balcony. That’s when I decided to join others from our society and planned to offer some aid to the affected people,” said Puja Gupta Das, resident of Angel Jupiter, a high rise in Ahinsa Khand 2. Indirapuram News

“I along with 10 other residents went to the spot. We distributed packets of roti-sabji, dal-chawal, buiscuits, water among other items. We have also planned to organise breakfast for the people there,” Das further said.

“Residents of several societies including East Square, Niho Scottish Gardens, Exotica Elegance, Arihant Harmony and others have sent items like water bottles, food packets, clothes and other items. We are distributing these among those affected by the fire,” said Shaili Singh, resident of Exotica Elegance society.

“We from the Fed AOA have urged all societies associated with us to contribute to the utmost extent. Gau Valerio, Ashaian Upvan among others have already sent their contribution,” said Alok Kumar, President of Federation of Apartment Owners Association of Ghaziabad.
