In Gurgaon, International Women’s Day was commemorated with zeal and fervor. The feisty and energetic spirit of women was saluted by NHAI by deploying female staff at Kherki Daula toll plaza during the day shift.
Meanwhile, the management team of DLF had felicitated women from diverse fields for their contributions to society at an event in Horizon Plaza. These exemplary women had also participated in a panel discussion centering around work like balance. Acclaimed women authors like Shobhaa De, Miniya Chatterji and Manjeet Hirani had joined Milee Ashwarya, CEO Penguin Random House for a candid exchange on the subject. This was followed by a discussion with eminent personalities from the F&B sector. “It was an honor for us to have these distinguished panelists in our midst. I am certain that the audience has benefitted from their empowering perspectives,” said Aakash Ohri, senior executive director, DLF5. The event concluded with a live band performance.
The second part of the event will be held tomorrow at DLF Club 5. There will be panel discussions on subjects that impact the life of the contemporary Indian woman like nutrition and wellness, financial independence etc. A major highlight of the day will be a session on organic cooking by Tijara Farm. A workshop on self defence to be conducted by women officers of the Haryana police force and the screening of a documentary titled ‘Saints of Sin’ are the other highlights.
