With town and country planning (TCP) Haryana issuing a completion certificate (CC) to Suncity in Sector 54, Gurgaon, civic maintenance will be handed over to Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) from the private developer.
JP Sihag, chief town planner, Haryana, said, "We have issued a CC to Suncity a few weeks ago after completing essential formalities. Certificates were also issued to five or six other commercial and residential projects in Gurgaon."
In April 2017, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar had announced the transfer of four private colonies to MCG after an assessment of infrastructure gaps. These included DLF I, II and III, Palam Vihar, Sushant Lok I and Suncity.
MCG appointed consultants to assess deficient infrastructure in these colonies. The assessment included a study of roads, sewers, drains and maintenance cost of the townships for the next five years.
Suncity had applied for the plotted township in 1998 under the name of Uddar Gagan Properties Private Limited and Others. And it is the first among the four to be transferred to MCG.
However, Sudhir Chauhan, senior town planner, MCG, said, "We have no information about the CC to Suncity project. I can say something only after I see the certificate."
