Noida Police registered an FIR at Sector 24 police station yesterday afternoon against the principal and two teachers of Ahlcon Public School, Mayur Vihar Phase I.
According to Arun Kumar Singh, SP City, “We registered the FIR under the IPC Sections 306 (abetment to suicide), 354 (sexual harassment and punishment for sexual harassment), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and POCSO Act."
A constable clerk who had taken the FIR was suspended for not including Sections 354 and POCSO Act in the FIR.
A Class IX student committed suicide on Tuesday evening after undergoing depression for obtaining low scores in the recently concluded school examinations. The student, identified as Ekisha Raghav Shah, lived in Sector 62 with her family.
Ekisha had hung herself from the ceiling fan of her room. She was rushed to the Kailash Hospital by her parents, where doctors pronounced her dead.
Family members have alleged that the girl committed suicide as she was being mentally harassed by school teachers.
