This height barrier at Atta Peer Chowk can fall any time!

While crossing Noida Sector 27, our City Spidey reporter came across a height barrier at Atta Peer Chowk that is drooping treacherously low.

The height barrier, which was installed in the vicinity of Sab Mall by Noida Authority to stop heavy vehicles from entering the Atta market area, has now become dangerous for three- and four-wheelers. According to the traffic department, the structure is weakening rapidly and very soon, it might break and fall on cars — or even people — passing underneath it.

According to commuters, given the current condition of the height barrier, vehicles with relatively taller roofs can hardly scrape through. Chances of mishaps are multiplying by the day, as even light collisions with vehicle roofs can bring the barrier down.

Wondering about the callousness of the traffic police and civic authorities, our City Spidey reporter questioned Layak Singh, traffic inspector, about the situation. “We are going to immediately inform Noida Authority to repair the barrier,” was his knee-jerk reaction.

City Spidey also apprised SC Mishra, senior project engineer of Noida Authority, of the half-collapsed height barrier. Mishra immediately sent his team to repair it. “The team will be welding the joints of the barrier and increasing the height. This work will be done within two hours,” he added.
