Residents of Antriksh Golf View Society in Sector 78, Noida, and members of Noida Extension Flats Owners Main Association (NEFOMA) met officials of horticulture department officials on Thursday regarding maintenance and development of a park in front of the society.
According to the residents, people are afraid to use the park because snakes have been seen on the premises during warm summer months. The place is also filled with stagnant water, making it an ideal breeding ground for mosquitoes.
Parvesh Bansal, a resident, complained, “We have complained several times to the officials of Noida Authority — they hardly look after this sector. We have repeatedly told them about the park , but no action has been taken. The boundary wall of the park is damaged and cows and other animals easily enter the park.”
Annu Khan, NEFOMA president, told City Spidey, “The children can’t play there — women and senior citizens don’t go there any longer. We also want the officials to plant a few trees in the park.”
Omvir Singh, director of horticulture, said, “The authority will reconstruct the boundary, and plant more trees in the park. We will make an estimate for the work, and once the budget is approved, work will begin instantly.”
