Buyers can have their legal queries answered by experts tomorrow at a seminar

Noida Extension Flat Owners Welfare Association (NEFOWA) is organising a seminar tomorrow at the Indira Gandhi Kala Kendra in Sector 6, for the benefit of flat buyers. Experts from the Supreme Court, High Court, RERA and National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) will participate in the seminar. Noida News

According to Shweta Bharati, general secretary of NEFOWA, invitations have been extended to all buyers of residential projects across Noida and Greater Noida. These buyers are all suffering from delayed possession and other builder issues.

“Flat buyers, who have paid almost 95 per cent of the total amount to developers are still awaiting possession. Therefore, we are securing this platform for them, wherein they can have their queries answered by legal experts,” Bharti said.

Bharti also added that homebuyers were unsure about which forum they should file their cases on and register legal complaints. “Through this seminar, this confusion, too, will be addressed. The Supreme Court has ordered the Amrapali Group to submit a comprehensive strategy plan as far as the pending delivery of 41,000 flats is concerned. The next hearing on this will be on February 21,” Bharti informed.

“We will also discuss the role of the Galaxy Group in restarting the Amrapali projects that have got stuck because of fiscal crunches. The proposed investments of the Galaxy Group will also be discussed,” Bharti added.

Incidentally, Amrapali represents the Galaxy Group as a co-developer, and therefore the apex court has asked the latter to submit a plan on its strategy of working with the Amrapali Group to restart construction.

In Noida, there are about 96 housing projects that are stuck because of financial crunches. About 30 are in critical condition. On the other hand, in Greater Noida, about 203 projects are stuck, out of which nearly 80 are in a critical state.
