MCG hosts second house meeting; mulls on a host of issues

The second house meeting of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) since the civic elections passed several key projects and proposals.
The meeting saw the clearing of 28 civic projects approved by the Finance & Contract Committee (F&CC) of MCG; formation of sub-committees and a decision on opening a public grievance cell for residents, where they will have the option to register complaints regarding the authorities.
The F&CC recently approved the budget estimate for 14 civic projects and consented to the allotment of 14 other civic projects to agencies for implementation. The main issues included placing jersey barriers on Rezangla Chowk, Bhagwan Mahaveer Marg and Sector 30/31 dividing road, construction of open-air gyms at parks and building bus depots in sectors 52 and 53. The formation of 25 sub-committees was also approved. These will be responsible for monitoring the work of MCG and will comprise of MCG councillors and officials.
The issue of water shortage in some areas was also raised. The councillors confirmed the building of a boosting station, which is almost 50 per cent ready.
This apart, there was also a discussion to build a media centre that would answer queries and provide information on matters relating to the authorities.
