MCG, yet again, comes down heavily on squatters

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) conducted anti-encroachment drives along the Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road and in South City II recently to streamline traffic movement.
Both the areas experience heavy traffic and encroachments just worsen the crisis.

South City II, adjacent to Sohna Road, sees high volume of traffic towards Sohna, Faridabad and Palwal on one side and interior parts of Gurgaon and Manesar on the other. So, heavy commercial vehicles are a common site on this stretch. Gurugram Breaking News
MCG officials said a large number of potters and roadside vendors had started sqautting near the start and the end of the road, where the drive happened.
In the case of MG Road, officials undertook the drive to not only reduce snarls but also accommodate extra space for road-expansion projects. Apartment management software
The MG Road is being reengineered to accommodate more vehicles going towards the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway and its arterial roads. Hence, numerous underpasses, overbridges and flyovers are being constructed at the IFFCO Chowk junction, which connects the two roads.
On Wednesday, MCG officials came down on illegal stalls near IFFCO Chowk bus depot to make way for road construction.
“MG Road and Sohna Road are two of the city’s busiest junctions aside from the expressway. Hence, the MCG regularly carries out anti-encroachment drives to restore traffic movement in the area,” MCG public relation officer SS Rohilla said.
During Dusshera, MCG officials had carried out several such drives as craftsmen had taken up road space in many areas for building effigies.
