Ghaziabad Administration plans a facelift for the roads in the city

The District Administration of Ghaziabad has selected seven major roads of the city for an upgradation initiative. The roads shall be freed of illegal parking, encroachments and illegal hoardings. A meeting was conducted today to discuss the nitty gritties.

These seven roads include the road connecting UP Gate and Mohannagar intersection, the road running from the Apsara Border to Lalkuan GT Road, the road running from Meerut Intersection to Rajnagar Extension Chowk, the road from Hapur Mod (Thakurdwara) to Dasna Gate, the road linking NH24 to GT Road, the road from Karhera Bridge to Rajnagar Extension and the road from Loni Border to Karhera Bridge.
Comparing the situation between Delhi and Ghaziabad, Ritu Maheshwari, District Magistrate of Ghaziabad maintained that the condition of the roads in Uttar Pradesh are deplorable. “The roads here have to change. Also the areas around them have to be made visually appealing,” Maheshwari said.
The administration has planned to clean the pillars of the flyovers. It also intends to landscape the central verges and beautify them with plants. Around 23 civic issues across Ghaziabad have been earmarked that include garbage disposal, maintenance of parks etc. The District Administration has also asked RWAs and all other city associations to put forth their proposals in terms of solving these issues.
