Flat buyers in two different projects by big builders — Amrapali and IRIDIA — on Sunday demanded a CBI probe into the inordinate delays in handing over possession of flats to the buyers, and the nexus between builders and Noida Authority, due to which no Authority official came to the rescue of flat buyers.
Flat buyers of Amrapali projects of Greater Noida West, including Golf Homes, Dream Valley, Centurian Park and Verona Heights, along with NEFOWA, congregated at the Noida Extension golchakkar and took out a rally. Hundreds of women and children were also present at the agitation, where several affected persons alleged that even Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made only verbal promises and nothing concrete happened after his high-profile visit and assurances. noida local news
Many flat buyers in the Amrapali projects told City Spidey that “we also requested UP CM Yogi Adityanath, but he only made verbal promises. He has done nothing for us till date.”
The plight of homebuyers in the IRIDIA project in Sector 86, Noida, is also same. They are running from pillar to post for getting possession of their flats for the past three years. All work on the project, started in 2012, came to a grinding halt after Noida Authority suddenly issued a notice in September 2014 that the project was illegal, when the project was well into construction. It has been three years since the flat buyers here have been complaining to every authority, government office and chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, seeking help. But so far, their problem persists. On Sunday, the home buyers took out a rally from Rajinigandha Chowk to the residence of the district magistrate in Sector 27, Noida. They submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Yogi Adithyanath through the district magistrate. Apartment management software
Abhishek Kumar, president of NEFOWA, told City Spidey that the builders of the IRIDIA project promised delivery of 720 flats to its buyers from the lower middle class and the middle class by 2016. After 14 floors were constructed with due knowledge of Noida Authority, the project was brought to a sudden halt, terming it illegal. This smashed the dreams of hundreds of homebuyers.
“It is nothing but a case of fraud and cheating by Kaveri Sahkari Awas Samiti [Pankaj and Vijay Lunia] and Horizon Concept [Naresh Sabarwal, Jivesh Sabarwal, Suninder Sanda, Ambika Sharma] in collusion with Noida Authority,” Kumar said.
Homebuyers complained to everyone they could — including Prime Minister’s Office, Chief Minister’s Office, Union minister of State for Culture Mahesh Sharma, MLA Pankaj Singh, Noida Police and senior officials — anyone they thought could help them. But, till date, the homebuyers are waiting for someone to help them get either possession of their flats or refund of their money already paid to the builders. Many flat buyers are paying high EMIs and rents, besides spending money running around. Apartment management system
The flat buyers in their memorandum demanded, among other things:
- Immediate possession of flats, failing which a refund of their money
- CBI investigation against the builders and Noida officials
- Strict punishment to those guilty of corruption
