The saplings were planted on the occasion of Independence Day at the municipal corporation park near Meghdoot Apartments. The missing saplings are being discussed on various WhatsApp groups of residents and RWAs of Sector 7.

People have, in fact, blamed the authorities for the missing plants. They said the authority has been neglecting the park despite repeated complaints about the plant theft and scarcity of water.
Coordinator of Sector 7 RWA and a resident of Shruti Apartments, Anurag Bahal, said, “The approach of the municipal corporation is really callous. There are no arrangements for watering the plants. People who have adopted the saplings bring water with them — but that can’t be a solution. And now, 30 plants are missing. The corporation should do something to improve the situation.”
Area councillor Aman Kumar said, “Tomorrow I will visit the park with the SO of horticulture of the area. I will try to find out the perpetrator. Also, the missing plants would be replaced with new ones. And in place of 30, we’ll plant 60 saplings.”
