People from Maharashtra are celebrating on a grand scale under the aegis of Maharashtra Mitra Mandal, but most societies, too, are hosting cultural programmes to mark the day.
At Upkari Apartments in Sector 12, the whole thing is being organised by Jagannath Seva Sangh, a community of people from Odisha living in the area. It is one of the largest celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi in the sub-city.

Maharashtra Mitra Mandal is celebrating the festival at True Friends Apartments in Sector 6. The week-long celebrations started yesterday with pran pratishtha and offering of prayers to the Lord in the evening. Celebrations are to continue till Thursday.
Swati Khanwalkar, a member of Maharashtra Mitra Mandal, shared the programme roster with City Spidey. He said, “We are celebrating Ganesh Mahotsav from August 25 to 31. Cultural programmes and other community activities will be start from today evening after 7 pm. Tomorrow, we have a painting competition for the children and a pravachan. On Monday, we have a food mini fete. On Tuesday, there’s a light-and- music programme by artistes of Dwarka. We will be doing arti every day at 7.30 am and 7.30pm. On the final day, we’ll have visarjan at 12 pm.” rwa management software
