Ghaziabad on high alert after the Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh verdict

As widespread violence erupted in areas of Haryana and Punjab following godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s conviction of rape by the CBI court in Panchkula, Ghaziabad was sent on high alert, with the administration ordering a strict imposition of Section 144 in the district. Ghaziabad News

While police presence was seen across the city, Ministhy S, district magistrate of Ghaziabad, also ordered all schools to remain closed tomorrow. The district magistrate, along with the police and adminsitrative officials, also conducted an inquiry at a Dera ashram in Rajnagar Extension.
While most offices and businesses downed shutters early, it also caused a sudden rush on the city streets. Residents complained of long traffic jams. However, the situation eased out gradually.
