Representatives of FORWAS (Federation of RWAs of Sector 9) were disappointed when they failed to have a meeting DDA chief engineer (Dwarka) at his office in Manglapuri yesterday. However, they left a letter of demands at the office.
Surprisingly, FORWAS members had gone after confirming appointment. They were asked by the office staff to come again after a couple of hours. But even then, the meeting failed to take place.
FORWAS general secretary MK Singh said, "We got an appointment with the chief engineer of Dwarka, SN Singh, after repeated requests. FORWAS office bearers, including president Dr KS Bhati, vice- presidents Col. CM Upreti and RK Sharma, treasurer YR Arya, Sr Secretary RP Gupta and others reached the office at 11.55 am, as per the scheduled time." Dwarka Local News
He continued, "But to our utter disappointment, we were asked to come again at 1.30 pm. We came back again and we were informed that the chief engineer was unable to have the meeting.”
They left after handing over a letter of demands. It spoke of pruning in parks, repairing of boundary walls, repairing of walking tracks and other civic issues.
FORWAS President Dr KS Bhati complained rather bitterly, "This episode goes to show the attitude of the chief engineer towards his work — and towards senior citizens. We handed over the letter that lists out the work that needs to be carried out Sector 9."
