Sushant Lok I: Waterlogged streets yet again!

Despite repeated complaints to Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) and the builders about waterlogging during the monsoons, no steps have been taken to ease the situation for hapless residents.

The sector has been long facing the problem of blocked drains.

MCG, according to the residents, was supposed to clean the drains by February end, but no action has been taken so far. Gurgaon Local News

With choked drains, even a light shower leads to waterlogging at various places, complain residents.
“I have been a resident here for the past seven years, and every year we face the same issue. This time, we had to lay bricks to create a space to walk on! We can’t take our pets out, and choked drains are responsible for vector-borne outbreaks,” said Polly Madan, a resident of Block C, Sushant Lok. Sudhir Sachdeva, another resident, added, “The water-filled potholes can’t be seen, and it’s a great risk for commuters.” Neighbourhood News

“I am scared to call people home. Guests have a harrowing time crossing the waterlogged streets,” complained Veenu Pasricha, also a resident of Block C. Rwa Management System

Speaking to City Spidey, MCG spokesman Satbir Rohilla said, “This sector has not been handed over to MCG yet. Certain clarifications are pending on the part of the builders.”
But are the residents to suffer? There are no easy answers.
