Gurgaon, Sector 28: Power crisis from Wednesday continues

Residents of Sector 28 continue to reel under power crisis, as the burnt transformer is still under repair.

Power went out on Wednesday night, and the residents have not had a steady supply since then. They have been getting intermittent and low-voltage supply from another transformer.

Besides impacting their daily lives, major fluctuations in power have harmed electrical appliances, complain residents. Gurgaon Local News

“The fluctuations have burnt my water motor. There is hardly any voltage for the fridge to operate properly — forget about air-conditioners!” said Harsh Jaidka, a resident.
The main cause of the snag was a transformer fault, which is still under repair.
“They have given us power from another transformer, but the voltage is really low. And again, we had no electricity for almost eight hours today,” complained Jaidka. Gurgaon News

“Our invertors stopped working and could not get charged. We couldn’t even charge our phones,” said Amit Lahoria, a resident. Neighbourhood news
Speaking to City Spidey, sub-division officer (SDO) Kuldeep Nehra said, “We are repairing the transformer, and the work is expected to complete soon.”
