Wednesday morning welcomed residents of Gurgaon with refreshing showers that brought down the temperature several notches and raised residents’ spirits. So much so that some of them even compared the weather with that of Bengaluru.
But what really pepped residents up was tha
t, even after showers that lasted almost an hour, there were no traffic jams!
What? Is that even possible in a city that gets waterlogged even after a 15-minute shower?
We guess today was special.
The wet city roads saw many two-wheelers take shelter under bridges — but no traffic jams.
And residents can’t stop gushing.
SD Banerji, a resident of Palam Vihar, said, “It was so very pleasant. We went out to have samosas in our car. I was astounded that the roads were so traffic-free.”
Arvind Babu, a resident of DLF New Town Heights, plans to take his wife out now that the rains have subsided. “The weather today reminds me a lot of Bengaluru’s. It’s not every day that we have weather like this. I want to make the most of it.” he said.
And why should the kids be far behind? Football in the rains is, of course, a shower staple.
“My son played football in the rain with his friends. I could see how much more the kids enjoyed it like this. It almost reminded me of my own school days,” smiled Rahul Rajan, a resident of the Escape condominium.
