Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi (SDKS) on Thursday organised a tree-planting drive as part of the annual tree-planting programme that was launched on June 5 (World Environment Day). About 10 children took part in the drive, learning about plants and planting them. A couple of parents also joined them.
General secretary of SDKS and a resident of Chitrakoot Apartments, PB Mishra, informed City Spidey that 75 trees — 20 Jatropha, 10 Champa, and 45 Cactuses) were planted in the green area of the footpath along Road No 226 in Sector 22. Dwarka Local News
"Thanks to the efforts of the residents, more than 90 per cent of the trees planted last year have survived until now," said Mishra. "We closely monitor the growth of these plants and even replace the dying plants." Dwarka Society News
SS Mann, vice-president of SDKS and a resident of Sadbhavna Apartments, Sector 22, arranged for the saplings and managed the entire drive.
