Sahaj Sambhav, an NGO working in the field of rehabilitation and de-addiction, organised a peace march on the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse (June 26) today. Participants wore black to observe the day.
People from various sectors and societies participated in the march, which started from Kakrola Mod and ended at Sahaj Sambhav centre in Patel Garden. dwarka news
Rekha Jhingan, general secretary of Sahaj Sambhav, and a resident of Peepal Apartments, Sector 17, said, "Drug addiction is big problem in the society. The youths are mainly the victims of drug abuse. We have tried to spread awareness through our march.”'
Members of Sahaj Sambhav, including Rekha Jhingan, Preetima Khandelwal, Shanu Wadhwa, Neelam Prashar, Ankita Trikha, IM Khanna, Madhulika Goyal, Sarita Bhatia and many others, were present during the march.
After the march, an awareness programme was organised at the Sahaj Sambhav centre. Drug addicts under treatment shared their experiences.
On the occasion, newly elected councillor of the area, Raj Dutt Gehlot, former councillor Shashi Tomar and others were present as guests.
