Noida: Sec 61’s Raksha Gopal is CBSE Std XII topper!

Raksha Gopal, a resident of Royal Tower, Sector 61, Noida, and a student of Amity International School in the city, has bagged the top position this year in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Std XII examination with 99.6 per cent marks.  

Gopal scored 100 marks in English, Political Science and Economics, and 99 marks in History and Psychology. The board declared the results around 10.20 am on May 28.
She told City Spidey, “Parents never put any pressure on me regarding studies and gave me their full support.”
She also thanked her school teachers for helping her with the preparation. Speaking about her preparation, she said that she solved a lot of sample papers. “I gave equal time to every subject and I prepared every topic well,” she said.
Gopal Pallipuram Srinivasan, father of the girl, said that he was proud of his daughter. “She studied with full concentration and we didn’t pressurise her for studies,” he added.
Ashra Khan, a friend of Gopal, who scored 98 per cent marks, told City Spidey, “We both prepared for the examination together.  Raksha also takes piano lessons and is interested in music."
Speaking about her future plans, Gopal said, “I want to study Political Science from Delhi University and I have already applied in DU and others colleges.”
Ramavtaar Singh, a resident of Royal Tower, said, “She always looked calm. All residents are happy about her achievement and are proud to her. She has set an example for other girls who want to achieve their dreams."
The CBSE’s all India pass percentage has gone down this year to 82 percent from last year’s 83.05 per cent.
