Fire broke out in a flat in Windsor Park, a residential society in Vaibhav Khand, Indirapuram, around 5 pm on May 11.
The fire was due to a short circuit in the living room of flat no
409 of tower A. The flat had been locked for the last three days as
Vikas Gupta, the owner of the flat, and other residents of the flat were
away in Nagpur.
Furniture, such as sofas, dining table and chairs, two air
conditioners and an LCD television along with smaller items of décor
were ravaged in the fire.
The fire was doused by the society’s residents and security guards who broke open the main door to extinguish the fire.
Somdath Sonkar, FSO, Vaishali fire station, told City Spidey,
“We received a call around 5 pm from one of the residents about a fire
breaking out. Two fire tenders were sent to the spot but the fire was
doused by the time they reached the location. Although the belongings of
the flat owner were damaged, no one was injured as the residents were
away at the time and the flat was locked.”
