The foundation stone for the much-awaited Construction & Demolition (C&D) waste plant at Basai was finally laid by Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) today. The initiative had been planned under the Malba Hatao campaign in 2012.
MCG commissioner V Umashankar, other MCG officials, RWA members and residents were present at the ceremony.
MCG officials said the move is important as Gurugram generates 700 tonnes of C&D waste every day, owing to rapid urbanisation and infrastructure development.
